Collision on I-79
Grove City – An elderly Grove City woman was hospitalized when her vehicle was rear-ended by a tractor-trailer on Interstate 79 last week. In Mercer County on Tuesday April 4th, the 82-year-old woman was said to be driving at an extremely low rate of speed when the truck, which couldn’t stop, collided with her and then jackknifed into the embankment next to the highway. Responders say the woman was conscious and alert, but was airlifted to a hospital in Youngstown Ohio for injuries of unknown severity, while the truck driver was unharmed.
Broadband Access Grants to be Issued
Harrisburg – The State of Pennsylvania will be dispersing more than $200 million of federal funds to for and non-profit companies for the development of rural broadband infrastructure. Grants of up to $10 million will be up for grabs for entities seeking to bring internet with speeds of at least 100 megabits for downloads and 20 to 100 megabits for uploads to rural areas. At least 2.6 million Pennsylvania residents lack access to any internet provider at those speeds.
