Heavy sleet and freezing conditions combined with strong winds through much of our region have led to closings and delays at several area school districts this morning. At press time there were also Tier 1 traffic restrictions on stretches of Interstates 79 and 80 as well as multiple weather alerts stretching across the entire region of Northwest Pennsylvania. The Pennsylvania State Police based in Meadville is still asking for public assistance in discovering evidence about a three-month-old burglary and theft. On September 7th someone forced their way into a property on Black Road in Hayfield Township and stole around $2,000 worth of tools and camping supplies from inside. Some of the more expensive items included a Gander Mountain hiking bag, a two room tent, and a Mechanics brand toolset.
