Deer vs Motorcycle Crash Injures Two
Edinboro – A man and a woman were injured when their motorcycle hit a deer in Erie County’s Washington Township last Wednesday.  According to first responders, it was just before 6:30 on Wednesday evening when the animal rushed onto Hill Road and caused the collision which threw Dana Luden (44) and his passenger Candie Wright (44) from their bike and onto the roadway. Dana was airlifted from the crash scene and rushed to UPMC Hamot in Erie for severe injuries and Ms Wright was taken to the same hospital by ambulance.

Updates to 511PA
Oil City – PennDOT has announced new features to its 511PA traveler information website and app. One new feature intended for commercial drivers can inform travelers about the height and weight limits on every bridge maintained by PennDOT. Another new feature for general use is designed to help combat human trafficking by immediately connecting users to the Pennsylvania State Police human trafficking tip line and adds information about how to recognize signs of human trafficking. 511PA is available as a smartphone application, at 511PA.com, or by calling 5-1-1.

Kiski Township –Another alligator was pulled from a Pennsylvania river this week. On Sunday two fishermen lured an alligator from the Kiski River in Armstrong County to their kayak after it had been on the loose for at least eight days. The four-foot animal that became affectionately known as ‘Chompy’ is apparently docile and will serve as an animal ambassador for a reptile sanctuary near Pittsburgh.

Allentown – The National Weather Service has determined that a tornado touched down in the Midway Manor neighborhood of Allentown on Monday. The funnel was estimated to be an EF-1 category storm that caused major property damage but did not kill or injure any people.

Pennsylvania residents are some of the first people in the nation to get access to a new feature brought together by a partnership between Starbucks and Target. Target shoppers using the app for curbside pickups can now order Starbucks food and drinks delivered to their cars in select stores. The new service will expand to 1,700 locations in 24 states by the end of October.
