Student at George Junior Stabbed During Altercation
Grove City – Authorities report a stabbing that happened between two youths in George Junior Republic on Friday morning. According to a report by police one of the facility’s residents attacked the other while the latter was writing and drawing in their own room and the aggressor was stabbed with a pencil during the ensuing fight. The stabbing victim was airlifted to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh for treatment. The results of the investigation are being reviewed by Mercer County District Attorney Peter Acker to determine if there will be charges.
PennDOT Work Schedules
Oil City – A trail project in Hermitage received a $350,000 grant from PennDOT’s Multimodal Transportation Fund. The money will be used to construct a trail connecting Lorewood Drive to the Hermitage Athletics Complex allowing residents in the area to walk, run, or bike to the complex instead of taking a lengthy drive. Clarion County is in District 10.
