Dirt Bike Crash Injures Rider
Hydetown – A Titusville man was airlifted from the scene of a dirt bike crash last Monday. Crash scene investigators report that just before 7 PM Taylor Gates (23) was severely injured when he failed to make a sharp turn along Gresham Road in Hydetown due to excessive speed and collided head-on with a pickup truck. He was taken to UPMC Hamot in Erie by a helicopter from STAT Medevac.

Oil City – This week is National Child Passenger Safety Week and PennDOT and its safety partners will be hosting several free child safety seat checks across the Commonwealth. You can find a schedule for these checks by visiting the Pennsylvania Traffic Injury Prevention Project at pakidstravelsafe.org, where you can find events like the one held today by the Pennsylvania State Police at the Marienville Fire Department in Forest County from 2 to 6 PM. The Pennsylvania State Police are also hosting events at the Meadville Fire Department on Thursday and Friday from 3 to 7 PM. There are also regularly scheduled walk-in days where parents can go to a barracks and have their seats checked.
