Girl Injured in Buggy Crash
Clintonville – In Venango County, a 16-year-old girl was injured when her buggy was destroyed after colliding with a parked car. On Butler Street in Clintonville the girl momentarily lost control of the horse that was pulling her buggy after multiple pieces of heavy construction equipment drove past and spooked the animal. The runaway horse pulled the buggy into the rear of a parked pickup truck and caused the buggy to overturn, injuring the driver. The horse continued its way down Butler Street until it was stopped and the girl was taken to Grove city for the treatment of minor injuries.

FEMA Tests EAS Today
The Federal Emergency Management Agency in cooperation with the Federal Communications Commission have planned a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert and Wireless Emergency Alert Systems that will take place this afternoon at about 2:20 PM local time. The test will be broadcast simultaneously on all radio and television channels and also on WEA compliant cell phones and devices where it will arrive as a text message.

Investigation into Deadly Housefire
Edinboro- The Pennsylvania State Police fire marshals are investigating the cause of a fire that may have killed a 73-year-old woman in Edinboro. Last Thursday Mary Wray was discovered unresponsive inside her burning home by members of the Edinboro Fire Department that responded to a call about a structure fire from a passer-by. She was taken to UPMC Hamot where they declared her deceased. While police say they do not suspect fowl play, an investigation into Mary Wray’s death and the origins of the house fire are both continue.

State News: Armstrong County Man Convicted of Multiple Rapes
Kittanning – An Armstrong County Jury convicted Zachary Baum on multiple counts of sexually assaulting multiple women between the ages of 16 and 20. Baum was found guilty of charges ranging from stalking and simple assault to sexual abuse of children, and multiple charges of strangulation and involuntary deviate intercourse. Three survivors of his attacks testified to the jury about how Baum harassed, stocked, and ultimately violently attacked them. Baum will not receive his sentence until next year, but will be required to register as a violent sexual offender for the rest of his life.
