Merry Meadville Kicks off the Christmas Season
Meadville – It is almost Christmas and Meadville is celebrating with Merry Meadville. Formerly Light Up Night, the new name is meant to reflect the expanded event which has now become a two day celebration. Merry Meadville takes place alongside the First Friday community market which includes expanded hours and activities for local businesses on the first Friday of the month. Merry Meadville begins with free cookies and $2 rides in a historic carriage at the Market House at 5:00 p.m. Cocoa and cookies will also be available at the Diamond Park at 5:30 p.m. and Santa Claus himself will arrive to light the Christmas tree at 6:00 p.m. and then spend some time visiting with children at the Crawford County Trust building.
Saturday begins with the 65th annual Art and Jean Cocolin Pancake Day at Active Aging and continues with pet friendly photo sessions with Santa at Crawford County Trust, and carriage photos at The Market House until 2 p.m. You can also shop at Meadville’s numerous boutiques and specialty stores, dine at its restaurants, participate in the Selfie with an Elfie contest, and admire the ice sculptures that will decorate Chestnut Street and Diamond Park.

Theft from a Motorvehicle
Erie – Erie County authorities are investigating the theft of objects from inside a vehicle yesterday. The vehicle was caught on security footage being robbed in the parking lot of Erie Fitness Academy by a black male with a beard, the man was wearing a gray baseball cap and hoodie, dark colored jeans with bleach stains, orange underwear, a belt, and black gloves. Anyone with information about the theft or the suspect should call the Pennsylvania State Police located in Girard at (814)774-9611.
