FAFSA Help
Titusville – The University of Pittsburgh in Titusville, Venango County United Way, and Titusville High School are teaming up to help area High School Seniors and their families fill out Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA) forms next Wednesday, January 31st in the Titusville High School Library. The workshop runs from 5:30 to 7:30, requires no sign-up, and is open to students and their families from anywhere. You will need to set up your online parent and student passwords and IDs for Federal Student Aid ahead of time and have copies of your 2022 tax return information and any information about non-retirement related investments. School Board Member Charged for Road Rage Encounter
Butler – A member of the Butler Area School Board is accused of pointing a gun at another vehicle in a road rage incident in Center Township. Police are accusing Phil Heasely of following another vehicle and pointing a gun at the couple who were inside during an altercation spurred by traffic. Heasely, who is Vice Chair of the Butler County Democratic Party and director of Butler Area School Board, denies the allegations and says he was on his phone at the time.  A preliminary hearing is scheduled for February.

State News: Zachary Baum Sentencing
Kittanning – Zachary Baum was sentenced to as many as 25 years in state prison for the sexual assaults of four young women in Kitanning.  The 25-year-old was convicted in October of multiple crimes against four women between 16 and 20 years of age. He stalked or harassed the women and girls on social media until they agreed to meet him in person and then physically and sexually assaulted them. Baum is suspected of attacking more women between the years of 2020 and 2022, but only four victims were willing to testify.
