Lost Rifle in Police Possession
Centerville – The Pennsylvania State Police are in possession of a firearm that was found lying on a road in Crawford County. The weapon is a .22 caliber Cricket rifle found on Highway 8 south of Centerville in Crawford County. Police surmise that it must have fallen off of a vehicle and describe it as having a minor case of road rash. At Least Six Dead in East Lansdowne Shooting and Fire
East Lansdowne – There is more information about Wednesday’s chaos in East Lansdowne that resulted in the injury of two police officers and the total destruction of a house by fire. A woman named Chin Le has told authorities in the Philadelphia suburb that the home belonged to her son Xuong and that the gunman was her other son Cahn and that after an argument with his 14-year-old niece, Cahn got a gun and started shooting. She believes that Cahn killed his brother, sister-in-law, and three nieces and nephews before shooting at police and setting the house on fire; she and her husband were in the house when things turned deadly but managed to escape and call the police.
On Thursday afternoon, three bodies had been recovered from the rubble and ash and investigators say they may need to use dental records to identify each individual, they will comb the wreckage again today for more victims. One of the two police officers who was shot on Wednesday was able to leave the hospital Thursday afternoon and at press time the other was in stable condition. Chin Le says she has no idea where her son obtained the firearm used to attack police and family members and that they did not have a family history of arguing; she says Cahn had no history of violence or mental illness before that day.
