Wanted Charles Hall
New Castle – The Pennsylvania State Police are searching for 28-year-old Charles Hall of Wampum who is wanted for the assault and robbery of a woman in Bessemer.  According to the barracks in New Castle, Hall attacked a woman inside of a home on Sunday night, hitting her in the face with his fists, he also whipped her with a power cable and kicked her in the temple with a steel-toed boot. He left the residence with her bank card and phone charger. No description was provided, but anyone with information about the whereabouts of Charle’s Hall is asked to call (724)598-2251.

ATV Hits SUV
Erie – Police in Erie are investigating a collision between an SUV and an all-terrain vehicle on the east side Monday night. A woman was driving her Honda CRV when a 22-year-old man from Angola New York drove an ATV through a red light and collided with the side of her vehicle. The man suffered several injuries, including a laceration to his neck, and was hospitalized at UPMC Hamot. Driving an ATV is not permitted on any street within Erie’s city limits; at press time the driver was still hospitalized.

Bowers Appeal Denied
Pittsburgh – Robert Bowers, the Tree of Life Synagogue shooter, was denied his appeal for a new trial. Bowers sought an appeal based on the grounds that Federal prosecutors did not prove that he intended to restrict the religious freedom of his 11 victims when he attacked them in October 2018, he sought a new trial. Judge Robert Colville rejected the appeal, he wrote in his decision that it was clear from the evidence provided in the trial and from Bowers himself that he targeted his victims based on their religious practices.

Crawford County – Penn State Extension’s Master Gardeners of Crawford County are holding their annual plant sale at the parking lot of the Meadville Downtown Mall from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday. Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Church in Crossingville is holding a rummage and bake sale from Thursday until Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day, proceeds from the sale benefit the hospitality and youth education ministries. Both sales are cash or check only.

Former DA Convicted for Assaulting Wife
Ebensburg – The former District Attorney of Somerset County, Jeffery Thomas, pleaded no contest to charges of simple assault on Tuesday. A plea of no contest is not an admission of guilt, it means that the person pleading will not fight the charges. Thomas pleaded no contest to charges that he was seen punching his wife in the face multiple times in Cambria County in May of 2021. Thomas is currently serving 2 ½ to 7 ½ years in state prison for sexual assault and two years of probation have been added to his sentence.
