Contractor Pleads Guilty to Laundering Drug Money
Erie – Larry Tremel Alexander, owner of the Erie-based home repair company Infinite Advancement Properties, pleaded guilty to drug trafficking charges in Federal Court yesterday. Alexander admitted to using the business as a front for the distribution of methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin, and hydrocodone around Northwest Pennsylvania; he also admitted that he used his company and his girlfriend’s bank account to launder the proceeds of those drug sales. As part of the plea deal, Alexander was sentenced to six years of prison time with four years of supervised release which is the minimum sentence for his crimes; he could have served 60 years behind bars.

50 Years of the MARC
Meadville – The Meadville Area Recreation Complex, or MARC, is celebrating 50 years of continuous operation this year and has planned some big events that begin this weekend. Saturday, June 8th is Retro Day! The cost of access to the MARC’s pools is only 75 cents on Retro Day – the same as it cost when MARC opened for the first time in 1974. Other major summer events are planned such as the ReMARCable Festival, $50 for 50 years, and more as the MARC has set a fundraising goal of $150,000 for the Crawford Heritage Foundation in the next year.

Woman Claims She is Child from Missing Person Case
Butler – A 39-year-old missing persons case in Butler County is getting new attention from the Pennsylvania State Police. PSP is working with an out-of-state agency to investigate a woman’s claims that she is Cherry Mahan, an eight-year-old girl who went missing after getting off the school bus on February 22nd, 1985. The woman, whose identity is not currently being revealed, made her claims on Facebook in late May. This is the fourth woman who has made claim to being the missing girl.

Driver Injured in Crash
West Middlesex – One person was hospitalized after a rollover car crash on Interstate 80 in Mercer County. Crash scene investigators report that they are trying to discover what caused a Toyota Corolla with a single occupant to roll off of the left lane of I-80 West in Shenango Township at 5:30 Tuesday morning. The vehicle’s driver was taken to a nearby hospital, but as of yet, police have not identified them nor mentioned the severity of the driver’s injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
