Crawford County Fair Begins
Meadville – The 2024 Crawford County Fair opens this weekend at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 17th, and runs all through the week, ending on the 24th. This first weekend is free admittance and there will be an $8 gate fee starting on Monday. For the second year in a row, the Crawford County Fair has partnered with the Grandstand Event app which can be downloaded onto a smart device and keep you up to date on the fair’s event schedules, where to find your favorite vendors, and more. The Crawford County Fair is one of the biggest agricultural fairs in the Eastern United States.

Area Criminals Sentenced
NWPA – 17-year-old Jim’mare Crosby of Erie received a sentence of 8.5 to 17 years in State Prison after pleading guilty to shooting another student at Erie High School in April 2022. Crosby received his sentence on Wednesday, immediately after entering his plea; even though he was 14 at the time, he was tried as an adult. In Butler County, Bruce Peters of Meadville was sentenced to a minimum of three years and four months for Megan’s Law violations. The 64-year-old is on the lifetime sex offender registry and could spend as many as nine years in prison for moving to Crawford County from Butler County without informing the authorities.
