State Police Search for Stolen Campers
Northwest PA – The Pennsylvania State Police are searching for a pair of stolen campers. The first was taken from a campground in Cherrytree Township, Venango County on Monday, August 26th. The camper is a Gulf Stream Conquest with PA license plate XJG3374, if you may have information call the Pennsylvania State Police in Franklin at (814)676-6596. In Crawford County, on Friday, August 30th, an R-Vision Trail-Lite camper was taken from a self-storage facility located in West Shenango Township. This is a towable camper, white with blue checkering and PA license plate XJD9294. The camper has images of an elk on a mountain and a swimming rainbow trout on the back. Man Charged with Child Rape
New Castle – A Beaver County man has been arrested by authorities in Lawrence County on multiple charges related to child rape. Paul Probst of Rochester is charged with child rape, aggravated indecent assault, involuntary deviant sexual intercourse with a minor, and more crimes after the child reported that he had been raping her from the time she was six-years-old until she turned 13.  Investigators say that during a recorded phone call and in text messages acquired from the girl’s phone Probst admitted to having an inappropriate relationship with the girl; he also allegedly admitted to inappropriate conduct during a recorded interview with detectives from New Castle Police Department.

Police Cheif Charged with Theft
McKeesport – In State News, a police chief, and former investigator for the Pennsylvania Attorney General has been arrested in Westmoreland County on charges of theft. Brenda Sawyer, the McKeesport Area School District’s police chief, has been charged with multiple counts of theft and related charges for allegedly stealing nearly $200,000 from the NAACP and Pennsylvania AG office while she worked for those organizations. Sawyer is accused of stealing $121,000 from the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s North Huntington Office of Narcotic Investigation while she served as its director, she has also been accused of taking $52,000 from the McKeesport branch of the NAACP while she served as the chapter president. The investigation seems to support that Sawyer was mostly using the funds to pay for gambling on slot machines at Rivers Casino.
