Man Killed when Car Hits Fallen Tree
Edinboro- A 31-year-old Crawford County man was killed, and a child injured when a vehicle collided with a tree that fell into the road near Edinboro Friday evening. In Washington Township, Erie County, Cort Winsor of Venango was declared dead at the scene of the crash after a collision with a tree on Fry Road. A seven-year-old child who was in the vehicle with him was trapped inside after the crash and after being removed by emergency services was taken to UPMC Hamot for the treatment of minor injuries.  The Pennsylvania State Police based in Girard are investigating the incident.

Ellport Shooter Denied Bail, Charged with 17 Felonies
Ellwood City – 40-year-old Nathan Fink was officially arraigned on 17 felony charges, one count of homicide and eight counts each of attempted homicide and reckless endangerment; he has been denied bail. Fink was removed from Breaker’s Pub near Ellwood City in Lawrence County after fighting with other patrons and allegedly returned a few minutes later to shoot at the bar and then other buildings he drove past. The shooting killed 37-year-old Crystal Wawrzynski and injured four other bar patrons while a man who had been sleeping at home suffered injuries to both legs as Fink allegedly drove by shooting randomly. 

Pitt Removes Athletic Director
Pittsburgh – The University of Pittsburgh has ousted its athletic director after seven years with the school. On Monday, Pitt’s Chancellor Joan Gabel announced that Heather Lyke would no longer serve as athletic director, saying in her statement that the school was heading into a new era of athletics and needed new leadership. In a statement of her own, Heather Lyke thanked the coaches and athletes at Pitt for working with her and wished everyone the best for the future.
