Iroquois Forfiets Season Opener Win
Erie – The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Administration has stripped a local varsity football team of their season-opening win. Yesterday officials from PIAA District 10 determined that the Iroquois Braves had to forfeit their season-opening 40-6 victory against the Cochranton Cardinals because they used ineligible players on their team. Iroquois used at least one student who transferred from another school and had not spent two weeks attending classes; the Varsity Football season started on August 23rd, while classes did not start until August 27th.  As a result, Cochranton will now have a record of 2-1 while Iroquois is now winless. In other High School Football News, the Meadville Bulldogs will play the Oil City Oilers in Oil City tonight with coverage on Pop Radio 98.1 and 100.7 FM or 1450 and 1490 AM or streaming on ILovePopRadio.com beginning with a pre-game show at 6:45 this evening.
