Truck Rolls on I-80
New Wilmington – A tractor-trailer rolled off of the Westbound Lane of Interstate 80 in Mercer County Tuesday morning. According to the Pennsylvania State Police, it was around 5:30 a.m. when the tractor-trailer had a collision with a car in Lackawannock Township, about 4 miles west of Mercer. The driver lost control and his vehicle which traveled up the median before rolling onto its driver’s side. Nobody was seriously injured in the crash but a Hazmat team was kept in reserve in case dangerous materials were on board the truck.
PA Issues 1-year SNAP Waiver
Harrisburg – The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has taken a waiver on work requirements for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program until August 2025. The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, also known as SNAP and colloquially called Food stamps is a program managed by the the USDA and benefits around 2 million PA residents. Federal guidelines require single adults without children to work at least 20 hours a week, or spend an equivalent time in job training or development programs; the waiver would allow around 10% of current SNAP recipients and future unemployed adults in PA to remain eligible.
