Body Discovered in Car May Have Froze to Death
Erie – On Sunday morning, Erie County officials discovered a man who may have frozen to death in a car. Police were called to check on a man inside a vehicle on Erie’s Schley Street at around 5:30 in the morning on Sunday and he was found to be unresponsive. Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook declared the man dead at the scene. The vehicle where he was found was neither buried nor stranded. The man’s identity was not released, but he was a family member of the vehicle’s owner and was said to be in his mid-30s; an official cause of death will not be determined until the results of laboratory tests are completed.

Outdoor Ice Rink Opens for Season
West Middlesex – In Mercer County, Shenango Township has opened its outdoor ice rink for the season. Shenango Township announced the opening on its website and social media pages Monday. This is the third year for the outdoor ice rink and it is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, and until 10 p.m. on weekends. There is no fee to use the ice rink and there are also no skate rentals available, but skates are not required to enjoy the ice. The ice rink is located at Shenango Township Park on Hubbard-West Middlesex Road.
