Woman Hits Fallen Tree in Road
Grand Valley – A 51-year-old woman was hospitalized last Thursday morning when she collided with a downed tree in Warren County. Crash scene investigators say that at around 6 a.m., a woman named Melanie Bouchard was driving along Sunback Road in Eldred Township when she hit a fallen tree head-on. She could not see the tree in the darkness, even with lights on. She was taken to Titusville Hospital for what were believed to be minor injuries.

Accused Murderer of Erie Woman Fit for Trial
Tampa Bay, FL – A Florida Judge has ruled that a man accused of the murder and mutilation of an Erie woman is competent to stand trial after more than three years of appeals. 73-year-old Robert Kessler was arrested for the homicide of Stephanie Crone-Overhaults of Erie in November of 2021, but a number of legal appeals have dragged the trial process to a crawl for nearly four years. Kessler is accused of killing Stephanie and mutilating her body before throwing her remains into Tampa Bay about a year after she moved to the area. A trial will be scheduled during a hearing on May 1st.
