DA says Police Shooting Justified
North Siwickly – The Beaver County District Attorney has determined that the April 4th shooting of DeShawn Leeth by Pennsylvania State Troopers near North Siwickly was justified. Leeth was shot and killed by officers after he crashed his car and started a bizarre altercation with an Ohio State Trooper before stealing a police cruiser and leading police on a chase across state lines, crashing that cruiser, and attacking police officers a second time.
It is unclear why Leeth was acting so aggressively. After a troubled childhood, Leeth had spent his adulthood as a community organizer and youth mentor, counseling boys not to make the same mistakes that he did.
