Woman Charged with Theft from Mother
Grove City – An Erie County woman was arrested in Mercer County, where authorities say she stole tens of thousands of dollars from her mother. The Grove City Police revealed that on May 20th, they arrested Lynn Dewey of Corry on charges of theft and financial exploitation of an elder for taking more than $40,000 from her care-dependent mother’s personal bank account. They declare that Dewey, who has power of attorney over her mother’s finances, allowed $16,000 of medical debt to accrue while she used CashApp to send money to herself and other family members.

Convicted Child Rapist Sentenced
Harmony – A Butler County man was finally sentenced to 14 to 45 years for the rape of a child. Shaun Sheffer, of Harmony, was convicted of three counts each of rape and indecent assault in January and was originally supposed to be sentenced in February, however his sentencing was delayed until Tuesday, June 3rd. Sheffer was convicted of assaulting the same victim multiple times when she was only 7 to 12 years old from 1995 to 2000 while they were both members of the Jehovah’s Witness community.
