One Man Dead, Another Injured, in Separate Motorcycle Crashes
Erie – An Erie man is in Intensive Care at UPMC Hamot after a motorcycle crash on Tuesday morning. Troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police in Girard report that they believe the 21-year-old driver was traveling at unsafe speeds as he left Interstate 79 to head down the ramp to 26th Street in Erie. He lost control of his bike, slid nearly 150 feet down the ramp, and was thrown from the vehicle when it hit a guardrail. Evidence was gathered for potential careless driving charges in the future.
Grove City – Investigators believe that alcohol played a role in the death of a Grove City man when his motorcycle crashed in Mercer County. At 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, County Coroner John Libonati declared Jeremy Gildersleeve dead at the scene of a crash in Findley Township. Jeremy was not wearing a helmet and may have been intoxicated when he crashed on Springfield Church Road. The State Police accidentally misidentified his last name as Jeremy Gilderson in their initial press release.

Massive Cleaner Theft under Investigation
Harrisburg – In state news, a tractor-trailer carrying $400,000 worth of the cleaner Pine-Sol was stolen in Dauphin County. The theft happened at about 1 a.m. on Sunday, August 3rd, in Hanover Township. The Pennsylvania state police based in Harrisburg are asking for information about the theft and searching for witnesses who may have seen the vehicle leaving the scene of the crime. No description of the stolen semi was provided, and Norfolk Southern Railway and two trucking companies are listed as the victims. So far, it seems like the culprit has made a clean getaway.

Man Charged for Child Pornography after Police Standoff
Utica – A Venango County man has been charged with 11 counts of possessing child abuse material after his arrest on Tuesday. 64-year-old Gregory Ahmadian of Utica barricaded himself inside his home on Tuesday afternoon when officers from the Pennsylvania State Police attempted to serve a warrant for his arrest. After a three-hour standoff, he surrendered without further incident. Ahmadian was denied bail for being a danger to others and will be prosecuted by attorneys from the Child Predator section of the Attorney General’s office.
