Crawford County DA says Use of Force Reports will be Public
Meadville – Crawford County District Attorney Paula DiGiacomo has said that she plans to release the results of two use of force investigations to the public soon. In July, a video circulated of a police officer punching 33-year-old Nathan Koman multiple times during an arrest after he refused to lie on hot pavement and be handcuffed. An investigation into the use of force was conducted by the Meadville Police Department, and a separate investigation was also performed by a private contractor; both investigations have wrapped up and results were sent to the District Attorney. She says they may be released before the end of this week.
Koman has been charged with multiple drug-related offenses and remains in Crawford County Jail.
