Man Cited After Car Catches Fire
Lincolnville – A Titusville man was cited for failure to report an accident after his car caught on fire in Lincolnville. Police say that about 4:30 p.m. in the afternoon on Thursday, August 7th, John Shilling was near the intersection of Lake Road and Main Street when the undercarriage of his Blazer started to burn for unknown reasons. With help from some residents, the fire was extinguished, and the truck was pushed into a dirt parking lot. According to police, Shilling left the scene on a bicycle he had in the SUV, but did not report the incident, leading to a misdemeanor charge.

Second Woman Dies in VCJ
Franklin – In Venango County, authorities are investigating the death of a woman who died in jail over the weekend. 35-year-old Brittany Chrispen was found deceased in Venango County Jail on Saturday morning; there are no court documents indicating the reason she was in Jail. County Coroner Christina Rugh said on Monday that an autopsy would be performed in Erie County, but no word has come back as to when that procedure will be performed. Officials have been tight-lipped about the situation. In June, another 35-year-old woman named Jamie Baker also died in the same jail; her death was determined to be an overdose.
