Crawford DA: Use of Force was Justified
Meadville – After reviewing the findings of two investigations, Crawford County District Attorney Paula DiGiacomo has determined that City of Meadville Police Officers used a reasonable amount of force while arresting Nathan Koman on July 11th this year. Video of Koman’s arrest circulated on the internet, showing police officers tasing, tackling, and punching Koman when he refused to lie down on the road to be handcuffed; the 33-year-old has a history of drug-related arrests and convictions DiGiacomo cited both the results of an internal investigation by MCPD and an external investigation by a former FBI agent in her findings, which both concluded that the force was justified and not excessive.
