NWS SKYWARN Training in Mercer
Mercer – One of the ways the National Weather Service is able to keep on top of developments is with the help of its SKYWARN volunteers, regular citizens trained to identify weather patterns that can indicate severe weather. Next Wednesday, May 13th, the Weather Service based in Pittsburgh is holding a two-hour basic SKYWARN training class at the Mercer County Department of Public Safety on 205 South Erie Street in Mercer. The class is from 6:30 to 8:30 on Wednesday night. If interested, register online at weather.gov/pbz/SKYWARN.

New Scholarship Fund for Students at Allegheny Side Campus
Meadville – The Allegheny Lab for Innovation & Creativity, also known as ALIC @ Bessemer, a side campus of Allegheny College, has launched a new scholarship program that could cover up to 90% of tuition for eligible students. ALIC @ Bessemer’s Tool City Talent Fund was announced last week and is being funded by generous donations from Lang, RDL Family, and Ainsworth foundations.
