Common Roots to Hold Showcase of Projects
Meadville – Did you know that around ⅔ of Meadville residents are renters? Or that many of them see no way in which they’ll ever own their own homes? Common Roots is a non-profit seeking to reverse the trend and help renters become owners, affordably and securely. If you want to know more, come to 166 Walnut Street at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30th, for the Common Roots Expo – Homes of the Future.
For nearly 10 years, Common Roots has been working nonstop to improve Meadville’s housing situation one property at a time, using a variety of techniques pioneered in major cities across the USA. Techniques like Community Land Trusts, Rental Co-Operatives, Self-Help Housing programs, and more. Come discover what these mean, and how they can help reverse the course from majority renter to majority home-owner. Visit CommonRootsPA.org for more information, and don’t forget about Homes of the Future: A Common Roots Expo on Walnut Street, Tuesday, June 30th.
