Inaugural Muralfest
Oil City – This Friday and Saturday, Oil City will he holding its first-ever Muralfest. During Muralfest, 16 monoliths will be placed on Oil City town square, and 16 regional artists have been commissioned to create an original work of art on each of the monolith’s four sides. The public is invited to view the creation of each work live from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday. After painting, the newly decorated monoliths will be waterproofed and displayed during September’s ARMA Fest before being permanently installed around the city.
FCCA Events
Meadville – The Family Community and Children Association is having a big week full of events coinciding with Crawford Gives Wednesday through Saturday. This Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., during the weekly community meal, there is also a resource fair where you can learn about the programs FCCA runs that help the community. Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. it their Live-A-Thon fundraising campaign, and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. is a community breakfast and back-to-school bookbag giveaway for students. Cheerleading at the YMCA
Meadville – Registration is open for Champion Force Main cheerleading camp at the YMCA in Meadville. Champion Force Main offers coaching for girls and boys from 4-18 to get involved, build confidence, and stay active. Classes are 45 minutes and will take place on Wednesdays starting September 2nd; there is a $10 registration fee and a cost of only $12 per class. CCFS Ribbon Cutting
Meadville – Crawford County Center for Family Services is holding a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house for their new headquarters on 996 Main Street in Meadville this Wednesday. For more than 160 years, CCFS has served the community of Meadville and greater Crawford County in numerous ways. Everyone is invited to visit their new home this Wednesday, August 19th, and learn more about the CCFS mission and organization. Though this event corresponds with Crawford Gives, they want to stress that this is not a fundraiser.
