SPEEDING CITATION FOR MAN INJURED IN CRASH
HAYFIELD TOWNSHIP, CRAWFORD COUNTY – A Springboro man has received traffic citations after a car crash that hospitalized himself and his passenger. Brent and Marlee Merritt of Springboro were both hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries last Thursday afternoon; their Kia Forte struck a tree and then spun across Black Road while trying to overtake another vehicle in icy conditions in Hayfield Township, Crawford County. According to the incident report, Brent Merritt was the driver and has been cited for speeding.

PA MAYOR GETS DUI
UPPER DARBY – The Mayor of Upper Darby, a suburb of Philadelphia, has been charged with DUI after being pulled over last week. Barbarann Keffer was stopped for failing to stay in her lane and failed a field sobriety test; she later released a statement admitting guilt and claiming she would seek treatment for alcoholism.

FETTERMAN IN US SENATE
WASHINGTON DC – In our nation’s Capital, newly minted US Senator John Fetterman has received his first committee assignments. The former Lt. Governor is a member of the Agriculture, Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs committees, and the Special Committee on Aging. He spent most of his first month as a Senator hiring staff and becoming acquainted with his colleagues and the city of Washington.
