Abandoned Vehicle Investigation
Sugarcreek – The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating an abandoned vehicle that was found crashed on Alenbaugh Road in Sugarcreek. The vehicle is a gray 2006 Acura TSX with expired temporary plates issued in Texas; the driver left the car where it crashed and fled the scene. Anybody with information or may have witnessed the crash please call the Franklin State Police at (814)676-6596.
PA Senate Confirms AG and PSP Commissioner
Harrisburg – Yesterday the Pennsylvania State Senate unanimously agreed to confirm Pennsylvania’s two top cops. Without dissenters, the Senate Confirmed Michelle Henry as the commonwealth’s Attorney General and Christopher Paris as the State Police Commissioner. Michelle Henry served as Governor Shapiro’s top deputy while he was the state AG, she has spent 26 years practicing law as a legal aid attorney and a prosecutor for Bucks County before coming to the office of Attorney General, she will serve out the remainder of Shapiro’s term as AG. Colonel Christopher Paris has served in the Pennsylvania State Police since 1999, he holds a degree in Law from Temple University and is a member of the Pennsylvania BAR Association, and spent part of his career with the Bureau of Integrity and Professional Standards.
Zabel Resigns Amidst Harassment Allegations
Media – Facing allegations of sexual misconduct, Democratic State Representative Mike Zabel has tendered his resignation from the PA House effective next Thursday. Zabel has been accused on four occasions of sexual harassment, including against a fellow legislator, Abby Major, the Republican from Armstrong County. A special election for Zabel’s seat in Delaware County will take place during the primary election in May, in the meantime, neither Democrats nor Republicans will hold a majority in the State House.
