A 78-year-old man was hospitalized when he crashed his vehicle at the intersection of Route 18 and I-90 last Friday night. According to investigators of the crash scene, the man failed to negotiate the turn on a roundabout connecting to a bridge that carries a stretch of highway known as Meadville Road over the interstate near Platea; he nudged the curb and then drove his vehicle straight into a guide rail at about 7:30 PM. The man was not using a seatbelt and suffered injuries in the crash.

Today is the first official day of winter and according to the National Weather Service Winter 2022-23 will probably end up warmer than average with mixed precipitation being more likely than snow storms.
