TEEN DRIVER INJURED IN CRASH
ERIE COUNTY – Authorities provided details on a crash that hospitalized a 17-year-old driver during Wednesday’s adverse weather. On Oliver Road in Washington Township, Erie County, first responders report that a young man lost control while driving at an unsuitable speed for the road conditions shortly before 9:30 in the morning. His car traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a large tree with enough force that the vehicle wrapped around it; firefighters had to extricate the teen from the vehicle using mechanical means and he was transported to UPMC Hamot with possibly severe injuries.

FERN HOLLOW BRIDGE COLLAPSE ANNIVERSARY
PITTRBURGH – Saturday marked the one-year anniversary of the Fern Hollow Bridge Disaster in Pittsburgh.  On January 28th, 2022, the bridge collapsed 100 feet into a ravine and injured 10 people just a few minutes before the city’s morning rush hour. An investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board has yet to come to a conclusion about the cause of the collapse, but a new bridge of different construction is already operational in the same location.
