Deadly Valentine’s Collision kills One
Mercer County – A 30-year-old woman lost her life in a fatal Valentine’s Day Crash in Mercer County. The fatal accident took place on a stretch of Route 318 known as Mercer/West Middlesex Road in East Lackawannock Township. Crash scene investigators say that according to the survivors of the crash, the woman, named Brittany Strickland, appeared to have accidentally drifted onto the shoulder of the road and then overcorrected enough to send her car into a power slide. Her vehicle ended up with its passenger side facing oncoming traffic and was hit straight on by another motorist that could not avoid her.

Governor, Senators, Eyes on Norfolk Southern Railroad
East Palestine, OH – Some of Pennsylvania’s most prominent politicians are sounding off and taking action for the commonwealth after the train derailment in East Palestine, right on the border between PA and Ohio. Governor Josh Shapiro has had the Department of Environmental Protection testing air and water quality on the PA side of the border since the accident, he has also contacted the President of Norfolk Southern Railroad, the company whose train derailed, expressing concern about the company’s mishandling of the situation and promising harsh penalties if Pennsylvania is polluted by the incident. Senators Bob Casey and John Fetterman have joined their Ohioan colleagues in urging the EPA to be thorough in pursuing an investigation into the derailment’s environmental impact and the NTSB to do a deep investigation into the cause of the incident.
