Four Injured, One Dead in Crash
Liberty Township, Mercer County – Several teens are injured and one dead after a fatal Sunday afternoon crash in Mercer County. On Mercer Butler Pike in Liberty Township, the driver of a car full of boys aged 17 and 18 overcompensated a right turn in the roadway and collided with an embankment. During the crash the vehicle rolled over several times, ejecting one passenger, and trapping the rest inside. The four boys who survived all suffered injuries and had to be cut from their car by first responders and transported to various nearby hospitals; 18-year-old Derrick Hoffman was ejected from inside the car and did not survive his injuries.

Extra SNAP Benefits End
Washington, DC – Starting tomorrow, in Pennsylvania, and 32 other states, there will no longer be extended SNAP benefits that were created during the height of the Coronavirus pandemic. The extra dollars in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits that came toward the end of the month will no longer be forthcoming and only the benefit paid out at the start of the month will be offered. The extra benefit payments are being stopped at the federal level and no longer available anywhere.
