Ohio Woman Injured in PA Crash
Beaver Township, Crawford County – 58-year-old Beatrice Lanum of Parma Ohio was hospitalized in Erie after a Friday afternoon crash in Crawford County. Crash scene investigators say Beatrice lost control of her vehicle on Route 198 in Beaver Township and drifted into the opposing lane’s shoulder to hit a traffic sign, then overcorrected, traveled fifteen feet off the proper side of the road, and hit a tree head-on.

Woodcock Creek Campgrounds closed for 2023
Saegertown – The campgrounds at Woodcock Creek Lake in Crawford County will be closed in 2023. The remaining facilities including the beach, hiking trails, boat launch, and shelters will still be in operation for daily use.

New Speaker of the House
Harrisburg – Representative Mark Rozzi resigned as Pennsylvania’s Speaker of the House yesterday. Rozzi was replaced by Joanna McClinton, formerly the House Democratic Leader. With Joanna McClinton as Speaker and Kim Ward as President Pro Tempore, it is the first time in Pennsylvania’s history that women have led both chambers of the legislature.

Gunshots Damage Trucks in Driveway
Fairview – The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating gunshots near Fairview in Mercer County. At about 3:30 on the morning of Monday, February 20th, an unknown suspect drove by a residence on Stoneboro Drive and fired multiple 9mm rounds toward the house. Fortunately, nobody was injured, but two Chevrolet trucks in the driveway were hit by bullets.

Two Nearby Counties Under Lanternfly Quarantine
Harrisburg – Pennsylvania’s Spotted Lanternfly Quarantine now includes six new counties including Lawrence and Butler. Mercer County was added to the quarantine list last year, but so far Crawford, Erie, Warren, Venango, Forest, and Clarion Counties have avoided any confirmed lanternfly infestations.
