Car hits Horse and Buggy
New Wilmington – A car hit a horse and buggy in Mercer County yesterday morning. According to the Pennsylvania State Police, the crash outside New Wilmington was caused by a driver speeding while having their vision obstructed by frost and ice on the windshield of their car. At about 7AM they collided with an Amish buggy on Cowden Road; the buggy’s driver was ejected from the vehicle but suffered no significant injury, however, the horse had to be euthanized at the scene.
Tik Tok Ban Clears PA Senate
Harrisburg – The Pennsylvania State Senate passed a bill banning the Tik Tok application from devices and networks owned by the State. 27 other states, the Federal Government, and some departments of the PA Government have already enacted Tik Tok bans because the app is hosted in China and is seen as a security risk. The bill now goes to the House for consideration.
Governor Visits PSP Training Academy
Hershey – Governor Josh Shapiro visited the Pennsylvania State Police Academy on Wednesday. While there he discussed his vision for dedicated PSP funding in the state budget; his budget proposal would remove the State Police reliance on the Motor License Fund and also provide funding for four new cadet classes a year. The Governor also wants to create a personal income tax credit of $2,500 for new police troopers.
