Woman Stabs Man, Threatens Grandmother
Jamestown – Samantha Wertz (33) of Jamestown was arrested in Mercer County early Saturday morning after allegedly stabbing a man and then menacing him and a 93-year-old woman in a West Salem Township home. According to the Pennsylvania State Police Wertz was intoxicated and wielding a knife when she showed up at about 3:30 in the morning; when police arrived the man had been injured and both victims were locked inside a bedroom to defend themselves. Wertz has been charged with aggravated assault and multiple other crimes and remains in Mercer County Jail on $75,000 bail.
Prison Guard Pleads Guilty to SA of Inmate
Huntingdon – A female Pennsylvania Department of Corrections worker pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a male inmate at a state prison. Kimberly Danfelt worked as a guard at SCI Huntingdon, she pleaded guilty to the 2022 sexual assault of an inmate under her supervision last week. Authorities had evidence including video from security cameras of her engaging in kissing and sex acts with the inmate. Danfelt will be sentenced in July.
