Man Injured in Crash faces DUI
Saegertown – A Meadville man now faces charges after being injured when his car crashed in Saegertown. Dalton Talkington was charged with DUI this week after police finished investigating a crash that sent him to Meadville Medical Center shortly after midnight on Saturday, April 15th. Police allege that Talkington was inhibited when his car struck signs and a utility pole.

State Rep. Crashes Car
Gettysburg – State Representative Toren Ecker, a Republican who represents Adams and Cumberland County, is being investigated for DUI after crashing his vehicle into a guardrail last Tuesday. A representative from the Pennsylvania State Police says alcohol was a factor in the crash, but at press time it’s unknown if there are any charges.

Life Sentence for Elderly Woman
Lewisburg – 78-year-old Myrtle Miller will become one of the oldest people to receive a life sentence in Pennsylvania history.  On Tuesday a Union County Jury convicted Miller of first-degree murder for poisoning her husband to death as well as for the crimes of theft, fraud, perjury, and others – state sentencing guidelines require a life sentence. Myrtle had been taking money from her husband’s bank account for months and also illegally changed herself to be the sole beneficiary of her husband’s life insurance policies without his consent, forged checks, and took out fraudulent loans among other things; when her husband discovered the fraud she poisoned him with an overdose of his medications.
