Shooter Arrested in Meadville
Meadville – A Meadville man is being held in Crawford County Jail with $250,000 in bail for the shooting of a 64-year-old man. According to the Meadville City Police, Martin Chaney (61) is charged with attempted homicide and aggravated assault after turning himself in to the authorities. Chaney allegedly shot a man while they were walking their dog on Sunday evening after a familial dispute earlier in the weekend and left them on the road to be discovered by a passerby; the victim is in stable condition at UPMC Hamot.

Tree Falls on Van Traveling Interstate
Grove City – A freak accident on Interstate 79 hospitalized a Grove City Man on Saturday Afternoon. Crash scene investigators and eyewitnesses say that 67-year-old Richard Deniker was driving a minivan on I-79 South in Springfield Township when a tree fell onto the roof of his vehicle and caused it to veer out of control and roll. Mr. Deniker was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle during the crash, he was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown Ohio.
Erie County Joins PA LETI
Erie – Erie County has become the 22nd county to join the Attorney General’s Law Enforcement Treatment Initiative. The LETI is a law enforcement-led initiative to help people with substance abuse issues to seek treatment without fear of being arrested or criminally charged by local or county law enforcement. Those seeking treatment for substance abuse can seek help by going to the authorities who will help them get in contact with the Office of Drugs and Alcohol. LETI currently operates in Berks, Bradford, Cameron, Carbon, Chester, Clearfield, Clinton, Columbia, Dauphin, Delaware, Elk, Fayette, Jefferson, Luzerne, Mifflin, Montgomery, Northumberland, Schuylkill, Snyder, Somerset, and Wyoming counties.
