TurboTax Settlement Reached
Harrisburg – Pennsylvania’s Attorney General, Michelle Henry, announced that Pennsylvania residents will be receiving their share of a $141 million settlement with Intuit, the parent company of TurboTax. TurboTax charged thousands of users in Pennsylvania and millions throughout the United States who used their product to file their taxes after being referred to them for free filing by the IRS. Around 160,000 PA residents will be given shares of the settlement, which works out to slightly less than $30 a person with customers affected more times receiving larger settlements. Settlement checks will arrive sometime this month, and eligible recipients will be notified through email without needing to do anything on their own end.
