Municipal Primary Elections Today
Today is the Municipal Primary Election Day. This year’s elections are focused on mostly municipal and local governance including city and county government, judgeships, and school board elections. In the primary, Republicans and Democrats pick the candidates that they want to see in the actual Municipal Elections on November 7th; there are no statewide ballot questions this year. First time voters or voters with a new polling place will need to provide identification, the best identification is a Pennsylvania issued Driver’s License or PennDOT issued photo ID card, or United States Passport; any ID issued by the federal government such as US Armed Forces ID as well as Student or Employee ID is also acceptable. If you lack photo identification some forms of identification do not require a photograph and a list can be found at the Pennsylvania Voter Services website at Vote.PA.gov.
