Pile-Up Injures Woman
Saegertown – A three car collision hospitalized a 71-year-old woman last Thursday. The crash happened right outside of Saegertown Elementary School when the third car in a line of vehicles failed to stop behind the others cued up to make a turn onto Route 198 from Mook Road pushing the second in line into the first. The driver of the second vehicle was transported to Meadville Medical Center for injuries to her legs.

9-1-1 Position Opens in Crawford County
Meadville – The Crawford County Department of Public Safety is seeking applicants to become full-time 9-1-1 operators to fill immediate openings. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age with a high school or equivalent education and no prior disqualifying arrests; pay and benefits will be based on a Union Contract that is currently under negotiations. Applicants will be tested on a variety of communications and computer skills as well as attention to detail and other necessary attributes. Mechanicsburg – The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association now recognizes Girl’s Wrestling as an officially sanctioned school sport in a unanimous decision that was announced yesterday.  111 schools have girl’s wrestling teams and now those athletes are officially allowed to compete for championships and scholarships in PA.

Philadelphia – Two inmates that escaped from a Philadelphia prison are back in custody after escaping on May 7th. Amir Hurst and Nacir Grant were both inmates at the Philadelphia Industrial Correctional Center who managed to temporarily escape from authorities; three other people have been charged in connection to helping them break out.

Harrisburg – The Pennsylvania State Senate’s State Government Committee approved a bill that would require the Department of State to track the full progress of Constitutional Amendments online publically. SB 408 was passed unanimously during the committee’s meeting on Tuesday and will be debated in the PA Senate later this year.
