This Memorial Day weekend, remember to emphasize safety. PennDOT, the Pennsylvania State Police, and local law enforcement will be taking measures to combat aggressive and drunk driving, and are also still participating in the NHTSA’s Click it or Ticket enforcement period, all three are crimes under Pennsylvania law and all three are 100% preventable. When you travel please observe the rules of the road, wear your seatbelt, and if alcohol is part of your Memorial Day plans then you should also have a plan for getting home safely.  Please have a designated driver, use a taxi or rideshare service, or spend the night with friends or family. 
The Fish and Boat Commission wants to remind you that boating while drunk is also a crime in Pennsylvania and that while all boaters should be equipped with a Coast Guard approved life jacket, life jackets are mandatory for all children under 13 years of age. Take care of yourselves and each other, enjoy the long weekend and have a safe and happy Memorial Day.
