Orange Air Quality Alert
Erie – Air quality is still an issue today as smoke and particles from wildfires in Canada blow south into our region and across the Northeastern United States. The local Air Quality Index for Northwestern Pennsylvania remains at code orange which is unhealthy for sensitive groups of people; those with breathing problems, young children, and older adults. Air quality in major urban areas reached levels that were unhealthy, or even hazardous for everyone yesterday and Philadelphia had the worst air quality ever recorded in the state.
The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection has issued a Code Red Air Quality Warning for Crawford and Erie Counties. It’s not advisable to build fires or run gasoline-powered yard and lawn equipment to avoid worsening the air quality. Smoke and haze from the fires to the north are expected to continue tomorrow and maybe through the weekend.

Third Lebanon Shooting Suspect Arrested
Philadelphia – A third suspect has been apprehended for a May 30th shooting that killed two young boys in Lebanon Pennsylvania. Ivan Rosera (27) was arrested by the US Marshals in Philadelphia on Tuesday evening. It is being reported that Rosera admitted to driving the getaway vehicle during the shooting and then fleeing from Lebanon to Philadelphia. The Marshals also arrested a 34-year-old woman who is a known associate of Rosera.
On the night of Tuesday, May 30th shooters killed 19-year-old Joshua Lugo-Perez and also killed two young brothers named Jesus (8) and Sebastian Perez-Salome (9).

Man Menaces Girl Without Reason
Franklin – A Franklin man was denied bail for charges of burglary, trespassing, theft, and more after allegedly menacing a 13-year-old girl from outside her home in late March. Scott Stephenson was arrested outside of a home on old Mercer Road after the teenage girl, who was home alone, called 9-1-1 to report a man was walking around the perimeter of her house and armed with a baseball bat. During the phone call he attempted to enter her house from the back door, he was arrested while still prowling the yard of the house.
The baseball bat carried by Stephenson was allegedly stolen from another location and he was reportedly found sleeping inside a convenience store that he was removed from earlier in the day. There was no known connection between Scott Stephenson and the teenage girl.

Tree of Life Shooting Trial Day 7
Pittsburgh – During the trial of Robert Bowers yesterday jurors were shown the weapons used during the attack and heard testimony from the retired FBI agent who was in charge of the investigation. Testimony was also given by a former member of the Allegheny County SWAT team who a wounded Bowers surrendered to; he said that the man was rambling and referred to Jews as ‘the invaders’. Today is the 8th day of the trial. Robert Bowers could be sentenced to execution if convicted of 11 charges of hate crimes resulting in death.
