Police Investigate Dead Body
Wrightsville – Troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a property on Kidder Road near Wrightsville in Warren County after the discovery of human remains. The remains were found inside an abandoned shed in Freehold Township and authorities are attempting to identify the body and a cause of death. Sources say that the property owner believes they must have been there for at least a year.

Another Code Orange Due to Wildfires
Erie – For the fourth day in a row, air quality is a concern in Northwest Pennsylvania. A Code Orange Air Quality Alert has been extended to midnight tonight across the entire Northwest Pennsylvania Region. Code Orange means that conditions may be unhealthy for people in sensitive groups like children, the elderly, and respiratory conditions like asthma. It is recommended sensitive people stay indoors and avoid physical exertion when outdoors.

Moderate Drought in PA
Lincoln, Nebraska – According to the National Drought Mitigation Center around ⅔ of Pennsylvania is now under what it calls a moderate drought, but nothing so far has convinced state watchdogs to issue any drought warnings or watches. The entire Northwest Pennsylvania region is included in the drought area.

Harrisburg – Pennsylvania’s Attorney General, Michelle Henry has announced that she will not be running for the office in 2024, but two other Democrats have already declared their intention to run next year. The Previous Auditor General Eugene Depasquale was the first to throw his hat in the ring earlier this month and now Joe Khan, former Philadelphia DA and US Prosecutor has declared his intent to file next year.

Philadelphia – One-third of the Citizens Police Oversight Commission, or CPOC, in Philadelphia, has resigned. Three members of the nine member board alluded to a toxic culture among board members and near-constant infighting in their resignations. CPOC was created in the wake of the death of George Floyd and is intended to oversee reforms in policing.

Harrisburg – PennDOT has made a rule change, announcing alternatives that can be used to a social security card when applying for Real ID. Alternatives include a W-2, SSA-1099, or a pay stub that contains your name and social security number.
