One man is under arrest after a raid on a home in New Castle on Thursday. New Castle City Police report on their Facebook page, the raid was conducted by Lawrence County’s High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force. Zachary Glaude, was arrested in the kitchen of the home on Arlington ave. Authorities found suspected heroin and fentanyl . along with cocaine and several other drugs. Glaude faces a number of charges and is currently being held in the Lawrence County Jail.
A Butler County man is facing charges for allegedly soliciting sex from teenage girls. Adams Township police have arrested and charged 61-year-old Dale Pine after receiving a tip from a nonprofit called 814 Pred Hunters. The organization sets up fake online accounts using decoys to find and catch child predators. Pine was allegedly soliciting sex from two decoys who were posing as 15-year-old girls. He is facing three felony charges.
Authorities have released the identity of a 15-year-old boy shot dead Saturday night in Aliquippa. Dahvea Sparrow had been at a house party before being shot at the intersection of Main and Knoll. Reports say the victim was found dead in the street. Aliquippa School District Superintendent Dr. Phillip Woods says that Sparrow was his cousin. Anyone with additional information on the shooting is asked to call police.
Authorities in Beaver County say a teen is dead following a shooting in Ambridge yesterday evening. Responding officers found the 14-year-old victim in the eleven-hundred block of Church Street around 7:00 p.m. SWAT team members were called in after witnesses said one of two male suspects went into an apartment building on Olive Lane. He has been apprehended, according to law enforcement officials. Additional details surrounding the incident have not yet been released.
A former Wilmington Area School District choir director was sentenced on Thursday for having sexual relations with a student. WFMJ-TV reports 27 year old Olivia Ortz was sentenced to five years of probation with the first nine months of which to be served on house arrest with electronic monitoring on a charge of sexual conduct with a student. Ortz was also ordered to have no contact with the victim and must forfeit her teaching license. The alleged incident took place in 2022.
– A Lawrence County woman is facing charges over the deaths of her two dogs. State police say Brenda Rossman left her two-year-old border collie mixes in her vehicle after returning home from taking them to play last month. Authorities say Rossman admitted to leaving the dogs in the hot car for 18 hours after she claims to have passed out on her couch. Animal cruelty and neglect counts have been filed.
State Police in Butler County report a one vehicle accident in Connoquenessing Towship. 57 year old Robert Issacs of Butler was westbound on Stevenson Road when he traveled off the wet roadway struck and embankment causing the vehicle to rollover several times. Police report Issacs was flown to Allegheny General Hospital for treatment.
A woman was taken to the hospital after she was struck by a car in Hermitage. According to police the accident took place on Broadway Avenue around 1pm. The driver, Christopher Piccoli, of Pittsburgh was charged with careless driving. WKBN-TV reports the woman was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Her condition was critical but stable.
