Crash Kills 79-year-old Woman
North East – Five people were injured and one killed in a two car collision near North East on Sunday. Crash scene investigators say that a collision on Gay Road and Lake Road at about 10 AM was caused by the driver of an SUV failing to obey a posted stop sign. 79-year-old Arlene Zemensky of Webster, New York was killed in the crash and the driver of the SUV was hospitalized with serious injuries. Everyone from both vehicles was transported to UPMC Hamot in Erie after the accident.
Helmets and Hot Dogs with Heroes
Meadville – Next Wednesday, July 26th from 4 to 6 PM, is Helmets and Hotdogs with Heroes at the Second District Elementary Playground. Students in grades K-6 in Crawford Central School District, Seton School, and Crawford Christian Academy are invited to join Meadville City Police and Firefighters for hot dogs and get a free bicycle helmet while supplies last. One lucky child could win a brand new bicycle courtesy of the event’s partners.
Still Missing: Candas Caffas
Meadville – Sunday marked the one year anniversary of the disappearance of 34-year-old Candace Caffas from her home in Crawford County’s Union Township. The Pennsylvania State Police are still investigating her disappearance until evidence of her whereabouts or well-being can be confirmed. Candice suffers from Prader-Willi Syndrome, a genetic condition that affects growth and development. The last confirmed sighting of Candace Caffas was at 5:30 AM on July 16th where she was seen by the Railroad Tracks near State Game Lands 213 in Greenwood Township Crawford County, wearing a purple shirt, orange floral pattern shorts, and purple and blue sneakers. She is a slight woman, with brown hair who stands about 4’09” and weighed less than 100 pounds when she went missing.
