A 17 year old male was taken to the hospital following a one vehicle accident in North Beaver Township. State Police report the male was traveling east on McKim Road when he traveled off the roadway and struck a tree.  The 17 year old was first taken to UPMC Jameson then transferred to Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh for further treatment.

Members of two large state employee unions are voting on proposed contracts with Democratic Gov. Josh Shapiro’s administration, including one that would deliver pay raises of more than 20% over the next four years. The tentative agreements cover about 36,000 members of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Local 13 and Service Employees International Union Local 668, Shapiro’s administration said Friday. Voting could last weeks.

State Police in Butler County report a motorcycle accident in Summit Township that sent one man to a Pittsburgh Hospital.  Police report 58 year old Thomas Graham was southbound on Bonniebrook road when traveled off the roadway and struck an embankment. Graham was thrown from the vehicle. He was flown to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital for treatnebt,  

Two communities are under a boil water advisory.  Utility officials issued the notice for the borough of Ambridge around 6:00 p.m. yesterday.  The Ambridge Water Authority says low pressure due to a water main break may have allowed containments into the system.  Water should be boiled and cooled before drinking, preparing food, or brushing teeth.  A boil advisory was later issued for Edgeworth due to the same water main break.  AWA has not yet indicated how long the warning is expected to last.

A Pittsburgh man is accused of sending inappropriate videos to someone he thought was teen girl.  Cranberry Township Police report the 23-year-old was taken into custody after travelling to the area to meet FBI agents who had been posing as a 15-year-old.  Officials say he believed he was meeting the underage girl at her home.  He is in custody at the Butler County Prison on two-hundred-50-thousand dollars bond.

Arguments in the sentencing phase of the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting trial are expected to wrap up sometime this week.  Defense attorneys have called a number of witnesses to speak on the history of mental illness suffered by convicted gunman Robert Bowers.  He has been found guilty of killing eleven people inside the Squirrel Hill synagogue that housed three Jewish congregations in October of 2018.  Jurors will ultimately decide whether he will be executed or spend the rest of his life behind bars.

Federal officials say natural gas production in the region remained flat last year, including in four key Pennsylvania counties. Data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration shows those four top-producing counties – Susquehanna, Washington, Bradford, and Greene – saw a three percent decline in production in 2022 compared to the previous year.  Officials say drilling efficiency decreased in three of those counties for the first time in ten years.  Overall, Susquehanna County has been the state’s largest natural gas producer.

  Tomorrow night’s Mega Millions jackpot is up over a billion dollars.  There was no winner in Friday night’s drawing, thus pushing the total prize, before taxes, to one-point-zero-five billion dollars.  It’s the second billion-dollar-plus lottery jackpot in as many weeks.  The cash option on tomorrow’s jackpot is an estimated 527-point-nine million dollars.      

The Allegheny County Democratic committee is nominating a candidate to replace Representative Sara Innamorato.  Lindsay Powell has been selected to fill the 21st district seat.  Powell currently serves as the director of workforce strategies with Innovate Pittsburgh.  A special election for the open seat is planned for September 19th.  Innamorato is running for Allegheny County Executive.
