Man Wounded in Police Shootout
Erie – Keegan Gabriel Baker (26) of Erie was shot and wounded by officers from the Millcreek and Pennsylvania State Police after he allegedly opened fire on officers from a burning building on Tuesday. Baker is accused of forcing his way into a residence on East Gore Road in Erie where he was not welcomed and the residents called the police before leaving. He is said to have set the fire himself and remained inside the building until police arrived and then he attacked. Baker suffered multiple gunshot wounds and nobody else was injured, Millcreek Volunteer Fire Department extinguished the fire in short order. Keegan Gabrial Baker survived his injuries and was officially charged with multiple felonies including attempted homicide, arson, five counts of aggravated assault, attempted murder of a law enforcement officer, and more yesterday.
Snowmobile Trails funded by State
Winter Recreation in Northwest PA has received a large amount of support from the state government after more than $125,000 in grants have been awarded to local snowmobile clubs. The money is to build and maintain about 250 miles of planned snowmobile trails in Erie, Warren, and Crawford Counties this winter. The Money comes from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources through the ATV Management and Snowmobile Management restricted funds.
