Argument Turns Serious
Bear Lake – 52-year-old Kevin Green of Bear Lake in Warren County has been charged with assault and other crimes after police say he pointed a handgun at his daughter during an argument. According to the Pennsylvania State Police he and his daughter were arguing after she wanted to visit friends out of state and when the argument got heated he pulled a gun on her.

$17,000 Granted to Mercer County VFDs
Mercer – Three Mercer County Volunteer Fire Departments have been granted more than $17,000 to improve their wildfire fighting capabilities. The Clark, Transfer, and West Middlesex Volunteer Fire Departments each received between $2,300 and $9,300 from the PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.

Used Book Sale Donations
Meadville – The Meadville Public Library is looking for donations of gently used children’s books for their annual used book sale. If you would like to donate children’s picture books or juvenile fiction and non-fiction to the book sale please bring the materials to the main desk of the Meadville Public Library on 848 North Main Street by October 31st.
