Massive PENNVEST Grant Awarded
Rimersburg – The town of Rimersburg has been awarded almost $9 million in PENNVEST grants to upgrade its municipal water systems. The funds are intended for use in upgrading the wastewater system to double its treatment capacity to 400,000 gallons a day. Rimersburg Borough wants to expand its wastewater facilities to avoid the risk of contamination of drinking water during floods or heavy rain showers. PENNVEST is the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority and provides funds for local governments through grants and low-interest loans to help pay for drinking and wastewater projects.
